Once upon a time nutritional diseases evoked visions of toothless British sailors who lacked vitamin C (Scurvy). Or perhaps children walking on bowed legs due to rickets from Vitamin D deficiency.
Because vitamins were discovered circa 1905, these “traditional” nutritional diseases have become rare. Instead we now confront a more insidious and lethal epidemic. It’s an epidemic of “modern nutritional diseases”. These include cardiovascular disease, diabetes, stroke, obesity and Alzheimer’s disease as well.
Nutritional Medicine is the science of their cause, prevention and treatment. It is the foundation of all our nutrition services.
